How to Mine Core (XCB) — randomy CPU Guide (CoreMiner)
A step-by-step guide to mining Core on the pool.ion.cool pool: the exact CoreMiner command for RandomY, autostart with systemd, the stratum port and how payouts work. No accounts and no sign-ups — your wallet address is your identity on the pool.
What you need
- A modern CPU —
randomy(RandomY) is a CPU algorithm: every core of your processor can work - CoreMiner — Linux x86_64 build, GitHub releases
- Your XCB wallet address — see step 1
- Nothing else: the pool has no accounts, logins or email confirmation
1. Get your XCB wallet
- Official wallet: Core wallet
- Explorer (to check payments): https://blockindex.net
- Wallets: the gocore CLI client or the CorePass mobile app — from the official download page
- Core addresses look like
cb…
Use your own wallet address, not an exchange deposit address, unless the exchange explicitly says it supports pool payouts to XCB.
2. Install CoreMiner
- Download
coreminer-linux-x86_64.tar.gzfrom the GitHub releases page and unpack it - Linux only: the release requires
GLIBC_2.33or newer (Ubuntu 22.04+, Debian 12+ and any modern distribution work) - Make it executable:
chmod +x coreminer
3. Create the mining command
./coreminer -P stratum://<YOUR_XCB_ADDRESS>.RIG1:x@pool.ion.cool:33337
- Replace
<YOUR_XCB_ADDRESS>with your real address andRIG1with your rig name - Wallet format:
ADDRESSorADDRESS.rigname— everything after the dot is the worker name - The password field (
:x) is ignored by the pool — any value works stratum://lets CoreMiner auto-detect the protocol; the pool also accepts an explicitstratum1+tcp://- Several rigs: same address, different rig names (
ADDRESS.rig1,ADDRESS.rig2, …)
Miners: what was tested against this pool
| Miner | Algorithm | Result on this pool |
|---|---|---|
| CoreMiner, official release CPU, Linux and Windows |
RandomY | Works — tested. Four CPU threads for three minutes added 120 accepted shares to the pool's counter (105549 → 105669) and the rig showed up as a seventh miner on the dashboard, with no shares turned away |
SRBMiner-MULTI 3.7.3--algorithm randomy, CPU |
RandomY | Not compatible — verified. It connects and submits, but the pool's RandomY verification never matches: against a share difficulty of 5000 the achieved difficulty came out as unrelated values from 1.0 to 11.9, which is noise rather than a hash rate. Use CoreMiner instead — we ran both so that you would not have to |
- CoreMiner is the ecosystem's choice, not ours alone. The other XCB pools ship it as their primary miner too: rabbitminer.cc offers it alongside an SRBMiner port, and catchthatrabbit.com lists it first while stating that any other RandomY miner may be used. It is also the reference implementation the Core Blockchain project publishes
- Every share is verified before it is counted, so the accepted and rejected columns on the dashboard can be read at face value — a share that fails verification is rejected rather than quietly absorbed
4. Pool ports
| Server | Port | Protocol | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|
| pool.ion.cool | 33337 | stratum | 5000 |
- Port 33337 — plain stratum, the recommended default
- The address bar of this page is always the server:
pool.ion.cool
5. Autostart with systemd
CoreMiner ships no HiveOS build — run it on any Linux machine. To survive reboots, create
/etc/systemd/system/coreminer.service:
[Unit] Description=CoreMiner (XCB) After=network-online.target [Service] WorkingDirectory=/opt/coreminer ExecStart=/opt/coreminer/coreminer -P stratum://<YOUR_XCB_ADDRESS>.RIG1:x@pool.ion.cool:33337 Restart=always [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target
sudo systemctl daemon-reload && sudo systemctl enable --now coreminer
The official mine.sh from the CoreMiner repository
also works — choose a custom pool when it asks for one.
6. Track your statistics
- Dashboard: https://pool.ion.cool/xcb/ — paste your wallet into My Stats to see your hashrate, shares and rounds
- Miners table on the dashboard shows every rig live, with per-hour hashrate and pool share
- Payments tab lists every payout with its transaction ID
- Public API: https://pool.ion.cool/api/pools (miningcore-compatible JSON: hashrate, connected miners, blocks, payments)
How payouts work
- Scheme: PROP — your reward is proportional to your valid shares in each round
- Cycle: the pool pays out every hour once your balance reaches
0.1 XCB - Fee: 1% — taken from the block rewards (reward recipients), never from your balance
- Blocks: under PROP you are paid from the blocks the pool finds; until the first block is found, balances only accumulate
- Every payment is visible in the Payments tab and in the block explorer

Competitors' fee and scheme from MiningPoolStats (October 2026); rabbitminer.cc (1%, PROP/SOLO) also accepts XCB. Compare ping and terms yourself before choosing.
- One dashboard for every coin on this pool: Quantus, Pearl, Core, Qwertycoin, Epic Cash, PCoin, Block Zero & Orange — mine them in the same place (see also Quantus)
- Live per-rig statistics, share charts and a public API — no login required
- Hourly payouts, PROP, no registration and no minimum account balance
FAQ
Do I need an account to mine here?
No. Point your miner at pool.ion.cool:33337 with your wallet address
and the dashboard will find you by that address. There is no registration, login or email confirmation.
When will I be paid?
The pool pays out every hour once your balance reaches 0.1 XCB.
The reward scheme is PROP: payouts come from the blocks the pool finds, so if the pool has not found a
block yet, balances accumulate and the payouts start right after the first one.
Which miner should I use?
CoreMiner — the RandomY miner published by the Core Blockchain community — is the tested option on this pool. It is the miner the project's own guides point to, and the other XCB pools ship it as their primary miner too. Do not assume that any RandomY miner will do: SRBMiner-MULTI connects and submits here, yet its shares fail this pool's RandomY verification, so we ran both anyway and recorded what came of it in the miners table above.
Can I mine from several rigs with one address?
Yes. Use the same address for every rig and give each a unique suffix after the dot:
ADDRESS.rig1, ADDRESS.rig2. Each rig gets its own
row in the Miners table.
Is there an encrypted (TLS) connection?
The XCB pool currently exposes plain stratum on port 33337 only — that is the port to use. TLS support may be added later; watch this page.
Where do I see my hashrate and payments?
On the dashboard: My Stats for your wallet, the Miners table for each rig, and the Payments tab for payout transactions. Machines can also poll the public API.
