How to Mine Block Zero (BLOZ) — rx/blockzero CPU Guide (patched XMRig)
Block Zero is a RandomX CPU chain and this pool speaks its stratum natively: the
exact patched-XMRig command for rx/blockzero, the maturity and dev-fund
rules that decide when your coins are actually spendable, and where the 1% fee is taken.
No accounts and no sign-ups — your bz1… address is your identity on the pool.
What you need
- A modern CPU —
rx/blockzerois a RandomX variant: memory-hard work built for ordinary processors, not GPUs - The Block Zero XMRig build — upstream XMRig does not know the
rx/blockzeroalgorithm, so use the project's patched release (xmrig-v6.26.0-bz4) from blockzero-ops releases - Your BLOZ wallet address — a
bz1…address from the Block Zero wallet, see step 1 - Nothing else: the pool has no accounts, logins or email confirmation
1. Get your BLOZ wallet
- Official wallet: blockzero-core releases — the GUI wallet (
bitcoin-qt) and CLI ship for Windows, macOS and Linux - Explorer (to check payments): https://explorer.bloz.org
- Wallet guide: the project's step-by-step wallet doc — GUI first, CLI for servers; pick “Limit block chain storage” (prune) if you only want to mine
- Block Zero addresses start with
bz1…— notbc1: BLOZ and BTC are different networks and cannot be sent between each other - Take the address from Receive → Create new receiving address; a fresh wallet syncs and shows the address even before sync finishes
Use your own wallet address, not an exchange deposit address, unless the exchange explicitly says it supports pool payouts to BLOZ.
2. Install the Block Zero XMRig build
- Upstream XMRig has no
rx/blockzeroin its algorithm list — Block Zero ships its own patched build (XMRig v6.26.0 +xmrig-bz/patch.py) - Grab
xmrig-v6.26.0-bz4for Windows or Linux from the blockzero-ops releases page — no compiling needed - The patch forces the donate level to 0 — the binary does not mine for anyone but you
- Linux: enable huge pages (
--huge-pages) for a solid RandomX boost; on Windows run the miner as Administrator for the same reason
HiveOS users: the same page carries
hive-bzxmrig-v6.26.0 (installs as bzxmrig-6.26.0.tar.gz)
— add it as a Custom miner and set the algorithm to rx/blockzero.
3. Create the mining command
mine-BLOZ.bat next to the minerxmrig.exe -a rx/blockzero -o pool.ion.cool:33340 -u <YOUR_BLOZ_ADDRESS>.RIG1 -p x
./xmrig -a rx/blockzero -o pool.ion.cool:33340 -u <YOUR_BLOZ_ADDRESS>.RIG1 -p x
- Replace
<YOUR_BLOZ_ADDRESS>with your realbz1…address andRIG1with your rig name - Wallet format:
bz1ADDRESSorbz1ADDRESS.rigname— everything after the dot is the worker name -a rx/blockzerois mandatory: Block Zero's variant differs from Monero'srx/0only in the nonce position — offset 76 of the 80-byte header instead of 39 — so a build without the algorithm would hash at the wrong offset and no share would ever check out- The password field (
-p x) is ignored by the pool — any value works - Several rigs: same address, different rig names (
bz1ADDR.rig1,bz1ADDR.rig2, …) - Tested end to end on this pool: both project-native dialects accepted shares — the
blockzero-miner.pyreference miner and this patched XMRig
Miners: what was tested against this pool
| Miner | Algorithm | Result on this pool |
|---|---|---|
| Block Zero's XMRig build CPU, Windows and Linux |
rx/blockzero |
Works — tested. A two-minute run on a Ryzen 7 CPU produced 3 accepted shares confirmed by the pool's counter, and the rig appeared in the Miners table under the test address |
- Stock upstream XMRig will not work, and no flag will make it work: the algorithm is simply absent from its list. The variant differs from Monero only in reading the nonce at offset 76 of the header instead of 39
- The patched build pins the donate level at 0, so nothing you hash goes to anybody else
4. Pool ports
| Server | Port | Protocol | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|
| pool.ion.cool | 33340 | stratum | 50000 |
- Port 33340 — plain stratum, the recommended default
- The address bar of this page is always the server:
pool.ion.cool
5. Autostart with systemd
The patched XMRig runs on Windows, Linux and macOS. To keep a Linux rig mining across reboots,
create /etc/systemd/system/xmrig-bz.service:
[Unit] Description=XMRig rx/blockzero (BLOZ) After=network-online.target [Service] WorkingDirectory=/opt/xmrig-bz ExecStart=/opt/xmrig-bz/xmrig -a rx/blockzero -o pool.ion.cool:33340 -u <YOUR_BLOZ_ADDRESS>.RIG1 -p x --huge-pages Restart=always [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target
sudo systemctl daemon-reload && sudo systemctl enable --now xmrig-bz
HiveOS: import the hive-bzxmrig-v6.26.0 archive from
the blockzero-ops releases as a Custom miner (algorithm rx/blockzero).
On Windows keep mine-BLOZ.bat from step 3 in the startup folder.
6. Track your statistics
- Dashboard: https://pool.ion.cool/bloz/ — paste your wallet into My Stats to see your hashrate, shares and rounds
- Miners table on the dashboard shows every rig live, with per-hour hashrate and pool share
- Payments tab lists every payout with its transaction ID
- Public API: https://pool.ion.cool/api/pools (miningcore-compatible JSON: hashrate, connected miners, blocks, payments)
How payouts work
- Scheme: PROP — your reward is proportional to your valid shares in each round
- Cycle: the pool pays out every hour once your balance reaches
0.1 BLOZ - Maturity: a coinbase output unlocks after 100 confirmations (coinbase maturity 100 — about 17 hours at 10-minute blocks) — a consensus rule of Block Zero, not a pool delay
- Dev & Growth Fund: from block 1500 the consensus itself requires ≥10% of every block subsidy to go to the dev fund address — the pool just builds a valid coinbase that includes it; nothing extra is taken from your balance. Watch the blocks on explorer.bloz.org
- Fee: 1% — taken from the block rewards (payment.feePercent in the pool config), never from your balance
- Blocks: under PROP you are paid from the blocks the pool finds; until the first block is found, balances only accumulate
- Every payment is visible in the Payments tab and in the block explorer

Competitors' terms from the project's own announcements on BitcoinTalk and pool pages (October 2026). Note the fee structures differ: our 1% is a straight deduction from block rewards at payout time, while the official pool's 0% sits alongside an on-chain dev fund that every miner's blocks already carry.
- One dashboard for every coin on this pool: Quantus, Pearl, Core, Qwertycoin, Epic Cash, PCoin, Block Zero & Orange — mine them in the same place (see also Quantus)
- Live per-rig statistics, share charts and a public API — no login required
- Hourly payouts, PROP, no registration and no minimum account balance
FAQ
Do I need an account to mine here?
No. Point your miner at pool.ion.cool:33340 with your wallet address
and the dashboard will find you by that address. There is no registration, login or email confirmation.
When will I be paid?
The pool pays out every hour once your balance reaches 0.1 BLOZ.
Two clocks have to run out first: a coinbase matures after 100 confirmations (~17 hours at
10-minute blocks), and the pool's own payment interval is one hour — so the natural rhythm of the
first payment is roughly a day after the pool's first block. PROP rules apply: balances only start
moving once that first block is found.
Which miner should I use?
The Block Zero XMRig build (rx/blockzero) is the tested option on
this pool — both project-native dialects were driven end to end against this stratum and accepted
shares: the reference blockzero-miner.py and this patched XMRig. Stock
upstream XMRig will not do: it has no rx/blockzero algorithm — the patch
adds it — and it differs from Monero's rx/0 only in the nonce position:
offset 76 of the 80-byte header instead of 39, so a stock build would hash at the wrong offset.
Build options:
ready-made xmrig-v6.26.0-bz4 binaries from
blockzero-ops releases,
or apply xmrig-bz/patch.py to the XMRig source yourself.
Can I mine from several rigs with one address?
Yes. Use the same address for every rig and give each a unique suffix after the dot:
ADDRESS.rig1, ADDRESS.rig2. Each rig gets its own
row in the Miners table.
Is there an encrypted (TLS) connection?
The BLOZ pool currently exposes plain stratum on port 33340 only — that is the port to use. TLS support may be added later; watch this page.
Where do I see my hashrate and payments?
On the dashboard: My Stats for your wallet, the Miners table for each rig, and the Payments tab for payout transactions. Machines can also poll the public API.
